Job Description

The successful candidate will need to stay in the area and have experience within the Logistics and / or Clearing and Forwarding industry. An excellent understanding of the market and related competitors is a must, and a proven sales track record will be requested.
The successful candidate will be a natural hunter with a passion for sales and will be responsible for bringing in new business, as well as looking after existing clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Relationship Management:
Ensure effective communication between the Company and Customers while building and developing strong relationships.
Ability to effectively engage at all levels of organizations.

Building Relationships with our customers and potential customers.
Efficient and effective management of client relationships.
Regular updating of Mobility platform with all relevant client information.
Achievement of agreed Daily Call Targets including call frequency targets based on customer category.

 

Grow Basket to existing customers:
The successful introduction of new products to existing customers.
Increase penetration on new product introductions whilst maintaining and growing market share on existing product ranges.

 

Sales Management:
Increase market share whilst protecting existing share.
Achievement of company sales targets.
Identify new Business opportunities both product and customer.

 

Administration:
Updated business opportunities must be documented and communicated at all times.
New customers to be captured into the Sales Mobility platform.
Capturing Customer Visit data into Sales Mobility platform immediately.
Proper, efficient and effective use of the Sales Mobility platform used at the organization which includes relevant customer feedback.
Efficient, Effective, Quality reporting on all sales and marketing aspects of the business that will include competitor activity and information.
Professional and relevant written communications between company and customer.
Effective management of the organization's owned products
Ensure updated and relevant information and marketing materials are provided to customers

 

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsible for securing new clients
Ability to prospect effectively in order to secure appointments with qualified leads
Manage pipeline to ensure conversion rate is achieved and revenue generated to exceed targets
Plan & execute approaches & pitches to clients
Master and understand market trends and seasonality
Proven success in your sales ability and demonstrable knowledge of the sales process
Exceed targets set in terms of generating revenue for the company
Convert new relationships into repeat business
Negotiate with the clients and prospective clients as per price guidelines given, looking to maximize profits
Be able to execute negotiations through prospecting, cold calling, quantifying and closing deals
Ability to converse with all levels of a client (Strategic, Tactical & Operational)
You will develop and lead both short and long term strategies
Promote services offerings
Onboard new clients successfully, adhering to SOP, SLA, KPI and RFQ requirements
Complete tender applications and secure tender business
Work closely with other functional departments to ensure that customer requirements are met
Ensure weekly / monthly reports are up to date and submitted on time as required by business

Update and maintain customer interaction data in sales CRM tool

 

Minimum Requirements:

Matric / Grade 12 / NQF4
Bachelor degree in Sales / Marketing, supply chain or other similar qualification
Valid Drivers License and own Transport
At least five years' sales experience in the Logistics and / or Clearing and Forwarding industry
